AutoCap Series 4500

AutoCap Series 4500 The Fisher Pierce AutoCap Series 4500 Controller-Recorder combines the AutoCap Series 4400 Adaptive Capacitor Controller with data radios in the same enclosure for two-way communications. This integration eliminates the need for additional communication equipment. The result is a powerful tool for discrete feeder management, data gathering, trouble shooting, system evaluation and analysis.

The Series 4500 AutoCap™ is a one-to-four season programmable controller.

It can operate on the basis of VAr, voltage, current, temperature, time, and combinations of these inputs. It also includes complete load data and event recording from which reports can be created.

The Series 4500 AutoCap™ utilizes SmartSet application software (Windows based) which allows the user to program the controller, monitor real-time line conditions, retrieve and graph load survey data from any PC/modem. The controller can be configured to operate under SCADA control or as a local control with SCADA override.

Adaptive VAr Control
Automatically measures the size of the bank, and establishes VAr set points for maximum energy loss reduction.
Adaptive Voltage Guard
Identifies voltage change from bank switching and inhibits Close operation if Voltage Guard plus present line voltage exceeds high voltage limit.
PhaseFind Function
Locates current signal phase with respect to voltage phase and compensates for phase rotation and reversed wiring.
Reverse Power Functions
Calculates proper Var setpoints to compensate for altered Var measurement in this condition.
Reverse Trip/Close Detection
Automatically senses reverse wiring of the Close and Trip drive circuits which inhibits all switching (except manual).
Anti-hunt Function
Automatically compensates for rapid bank tripping due to cycling loads or interaction from other switched banks on the feeder.
Undervoltage Inhibit
Protects the capacitor bank switch from damage caused by low voltage.

Easy Programming
Windows-based software allows programming for up
to 4 seasons, each with primary & override functions.
Multi-Function
In addition to basic functions, override functions,
voltage bias, and reverse power control modes, additional functions such as real-time monitoring,
user programmable calendars, switching time delays/inhibits, and neutral current lockouts are provided.
Extensive Data Recording
Recording capability includes a full spectrum of
user-defined load data & controller operations and
are easily uploaded via RS-232 or optional optical port.

Report Generation Capability
Load data reports provide a spread sheet format file, graphing of load data, direct edit graph time period, Trip/Close status, and report printing and includes many editing features.
