Capacitor switch - VBU Faultmaster Interrupter

The VBU switching system is ideal for capacitor switching and is suitable for all loads. The VBU utilizes a modular design concept which connects vacuum interrupter modules electrically in series and mechanically in parallel. The flexibility of modular design makes changing the voltage rating as simple as adding or subtracting vacuum contact modules.

The VBU switching system is completely sealed against the environment. They are immune to ice and to the effects of contamination. No heaters are required. The VBU is designed to withstand system voltage continuously in the open position.

The VBU switch system contains vacuum interrupters that are surrounded by Joslyte™, the 35-year field proven solid dielectric insulation. VBU switches offer high reliability for applications of system voltages from 69 to 230kV with continuous current capability from 600 amperes.
