| TriMod 100 Single Phase Vacuum Recloser | |
| Scope: |
This Specification contains the requirements for the design and manufacture of single-phase vacuum interrupting circuit reclosers. |
| Reference Standards: | The recloser shall be designed, tested and manufactured in accordance with ANSI C37.60 - 1981 or latest version for automatic circuit reclosers, including other applicable ANSI, NEMA, IEEE standards as defined in the reference section of the standard. |
| Service Conditions: | Service conditions for the recloser shall be usual standards for installation; ambient temperatures from -30°C to +40°C at altitudes below 1000M. For altitudes above 1000M, Table 1 of ANSI C37.60 shall define the altitude correction factor to be used. Unusual service conditions, such as temperature extremes, will be specified. |
|
Switch Construction: |
The recloser shall
be suitable for outdoor applications. The recloser tank shall be totally
enclosed with corrosion resistant cast aluminum. A pressure equalizing
system to prohibit ingress of moisture into the switch shall be used.
No heaters shall be used within the recloser. The current transformer
shall be externally surrounded by a grounded metal surface to prevent
the possibility of hazardous voltage entering the control compartment,
via the current transformer circuits, in the event of an external high
voltage flashover. |
| Recloser Performance Requirements: | The recloser
shall be rated for a minimum mechanical life of 10,000 open and close
operations without any maintenance. The vacuum interrupter contacts shall be rated for a minimum of 2 duty cycles as defined by ANSI C37.60. The recloser shall be provided with a hot-stick operable manual tripping lever that requires no external power for operation. Closing of the recloser is blocked when the lever is in the open position. The recloser shall be provided with a hot-stick operable manual closing lever that energizes the closing circuitry. The recloser shall be provided with a hot-stick operable manual "non-reclosing" lever that causes the recloser to lockout on the first trip operation. |
| Microprocessor Based Control: | The microprocessor-based
control shall require no additional components or changing of components
to make setting changes. All recloser curves shall be stored in local
memory and can be selected without changing control components. No batteries shall be required by the control for proper operation, except for a Lithium clock battery used for maintaining accurate time and date stamping. The control shall have the capability for being mounted on the recloser or at a remote location. The control shall contain open and close pushbuttons with switch position status indication. The control shall contain a reclose enable and remote enable pushbutton with status indication. The control shall contain a panel lock pushbutton to disable all front panel pushbuttons except the open pushbutton. The control shall indicate a lockout condition via a high-intensity LED that is viewable from outside of the control. |
